your current position/function
Your title on LinkedIn is essential in your description to encourage the recruiter to click. By default, it displays your name and job title. The recruiter’s decision to look at your profile depends on this information. The title of your job should inform them about the industry and scope of your responsibilities.
The layout of work experience on a resume
Your LinkedIn profile is essentially identical to your resume. You should provide brief information on what value you bring, and add details about your specialty, specific skills, and most significant achievements. It is important to use the same keywords as recruiters use in their search queries.
Your detailed skills and experiences
Detail what you have accomplished, and how you have used the necessary skills to achieve the results. The best way is to present figures that give the measure of your results and progress, and to put them into perspective with what you found when you arrived, competitors and the market, but also in relation to your seniority in the profession and the company. If your performances are difficult to quantify, specify your non-technical skills: the ability to meet deadlines, your commitment, your teamwork skills, etc.
Relevant and Qualified Links
The recruiter looks at your links in terms of quality and relevance rather than quantity. It’s better to have around fifty qualified contacts. Having over 500 or even 1000 contacts that you can display doesn’t matter. Focus your efforts on qualified contacts, connect with them, build useful relationships in your profession and industry, and join the same groups as them to participate in discussions, make comments, request introductions, etc.
Strong authority recommendations
Recommendations on LinkedIn are like a verification in advance of your references. The recruiter wants to see if you have other professionals among your contacts who vouch for your experiences, skills, and abilities. The best recommendation comes from your direct supervisor or a client.
Your photo in line with the profession
The photo on your LinkedIn account is essential and increases your chances. Like on the internet in general, a profile with a photo will be more viewed than one without. Choose a photo with your face and shoulders visible, with a clear and colored background. You should present yourself in the best light possible, especially with clothing that is appropriate for the professional field you are targeting.
