Recruitment needs are always there
For many people, summer corresponds to a lull where nothing happens. This is a common misconception. Don’t believe that recruiters and candidates don’t contact or meet each other during summer vacation. If a company needs to recruit, the summer months are no different from any other. Some people wait until September because there are more opportunities then. With the internet and social networks, the notion of a specific period for effectively searching for a job has lost its importance. The summer break is not necessarily one for recruiters, as recruitment needs are always there. While everyone else defers any initiative until September, assuming that recruiters also postpone recruitment until the end of summer, this is actually the best time for you to start or continue your job search.
The competition is less strong
July is a good month because the number of job opportunities seems more generous considering the number of active candidates. Most candidates, whether July or August holidaymakers, take a break and put their job search on hold during this period. There are therefore fewer candidates in competition during this lull, and companies and recruitment agencies have fewer people to meet.
Summer becomes the time for decisions
During the first few weeks of summer, most managers and executives prepare for their upcoming vacations and do not travel, or if they do, they stay in contact with their colleagues responsible for following up on projects in their absence. The summer months are periods during which they make decisions much more quickly than usual, as they have less workload and more availability to exchange and conclude, even if the actual implementation will take place in the fall.
