- A memory aid for the recruiter
Disclosing your appearance helps to anchor you in the memory of the recruiter who reads hundreds of CVs and meets dozens of candidates every week.
- A recent photo. The recruiter must be able to recognise you. If you use an old photo, it creates confusion and a bad impression.
- The photo should make them want to contact you and get to know you.
Crossed arms, a frowning face, a scanned, black and white photo or a copy of your passport photo are not acceptable.
- A photo yes, but a professional one!
Go to a professional photographer. Your photo should be appropriate for your job and/or the position you are applying for. It should be a CV, not a Facebook profile. No more photos taken at your wedding or during a drink at the pool with your friends.
- Take control of your digital identity
If you are looking for a job, put the same photo on your CV and your Linkedin profile. Your image will be strong and engaging.
